Kreesha Bhatia

Like Mother, Like Daughter

Raising the Next Generation of Girl Bosses

As a mompreneur, I always knew I was building something bigger than just a business. I was building a legacy—one that would inspire, empower, and show my daughter that dreams are meant to be chased. But what I never expected was how soon she would catch the entrepreneurial spirit.

At just six years old, my little Kreesha is already brainstorming business ideas, sketching product designs, and talking about customers and sales—all because she has seen me do it. Watching her passion, creativity, and determination unfold has been one of the greatest rewards of my journey.

When Inspiration Begins at Home

Children absorb more than we realize. They watch how we navigate challenges, celebrate wins, and persist despite setbacks. Kreesha has seen me work late nights, take business calls, and manage a team—all while being her mom first. Somewhere along the way, she decided: “I want to do this too!”

Kreesha is currently working on her own small business idea—a venture driven purely by her creativity and ambition. Whether it’s selling her handmade candles, writing her own fiction book or opening up a café serving Rajma Chawal with lattes and frappes (yes, she thought of this!), she’s proving that no dream is too big, no age too small.

How I’m Nurturing Her Entrepreneurial Spirit

I believe that as moms, our job isn’t just to raise children— but it’s to raise confident, empowered individuals who believe in themselves. Here’s how I’m guiding her:

🏪 Set Up Her First Shop at Local Fairs – I am guding her through the process of setting up a small booth, arranging her products, pricing them, and making everything look inviting. Seeing her name on a signboard lights up her face like nothing else!

💬 Boost Confidence in Public Interaction – Speaking to strangers, handling money, and explaining her products—these are all new and intimidating experiences for a six-year-old. I am teaching her how to greet customers, answer questions, and share her story with excitement. Slowly, she is learning to speak up with confidence and learning the art of customer engagement.

💡 Make It Fun & Rewarding – Instead of making it about profit, I am helping her focus on the joy of creating and sharing. Every time someone buys from her, we celebrate—not because of the money, but because she make someone happy with her work. She also contributes a percentage of her sales with the needy ones.

🎉 Teach Resilience & Problem-Solving – Not every fair is a big success. Some days, sales are slow, and she feels discouraged. But I remind her: Every business has its faces ups and downs. What matters is that you keep going. Together, we brainstorm ways to improve—adjusting prices, changing the display, or adding new products based on customer feedback.

🌟 Encouraging Creativity – I let her explore ideas, no matter how wild they seem. Creativity is the foundation of innovation!

💡 Teaching Problem-Solving – Instead of giving her answers, I ask her, “What do you think?” This helps her develop critical thinking skills that are key to business success.

📈 Making Business Fun & Relatable – I involve her in small tasks, from counting items to helping me brainstorm marketing ideas (her fresh perspective is surprisingly helpful!).

👩‍💼 Leading by Example – I share my experiences with her—the wins, the challenges, and everything in between. Seeing resilience in action teaches her more than words ever could.

❤️ Celebrating Her Efforts – No matter how big or small, I make sure she knows that her hard work matters. Her excitement is the best return on investment I could ever ask for.

The Magic of Watching Her Grow

The biggest reward? Seeing her transformation. From a shy little girl hesitating to talk to strangers to a bold and proud mini-entrepreneur explaining her products with excitement, her confidence is soaring with each passing day.

One of my proudest moments was hearing her say:
“Mom, I love this! One day, I’ll have a BIG business like you!”

That’s when I knew—I wasn’t just raising a daughter; I was raising a fearless dreamer.

More Than Just a Business—A Lifelong Lesson

This journey has been about so much more than selling products. It’s about teaching her that dreams are worth chasing, that hard work pays off, and that confidence grows with every step we take outside our comfort zone.

As moms, we don’t just shape our children’s present—we shape their belief in what’s possible for their future.

More Than Just a Business—A Bond

Our journey as mom and daughter entrepreneurs isn’t just about business. It’s about connection, empowerment, and building a future where she knows her voice matters. It’s about showing her that she doesn’t have to wait until she’s grown up to start making an impact.

To all the moms out there raising little dreamers: your ambition isn’t just yours—it’s theirs too. The way you pursue your goals shapes the way they see their own potential. So chase your dreams unapologetically, because you never know who’s watching and getting ready to follow in your footsteps.

And to my little CEO-in-the-making: I see you, I believe in you, and I’ll always be your biggest cheerleader.
